2017 D Quarter Error?

@Coop - Thank you. I have a hard time taking pictures of quarters because of the glare.

On the first image, the coin was angled too steep. Thus the closer area had too much light, the farther away was in the shade and had lower light. So more of an issue with angle of light and the shot.
On the second image, the angle is better. But the light needs to be more over the center of the coin. The light maybe too close or too strong. A diffusing of the light will reduce the strength and a filter will disperse the glare.:






This is the setup I use for full image shots and grouping to show correct color.

When ever you improve, you will probably happen because you did something wrong. If it is better, figure out what you did wrong and use that going forward. I've found that to be the case many times.
