I suspect that they are dust particles, either on the plastic that is there to protect the coin, or on the coin itself. Some fingerprinting in the toning below the ribbon. Tiny nicks may? be hiding under the toning - only to really know this is to examine with a 10x loupe. Poor definition in the maple leaf above the crowned lion. Don't know why - appears to be well struck everywhere else. If white spots are dust particles, and no nicks are found on examination with a loupe, then 66-CAM (toned). Report this Post to the Staff

As a 9 year old in 1971, I can attest that these were NOT in protective holders when issued, and this example looks like it has been touched especially on QE2's cheek and jawline....unless you are taking the photo thru a plastic flip. A nice toned PCGS SP68 can be had for about $100-$120. The RCM packing them next to a white foam insert wasn't helpful either. Report this Post to the Staff
