A friend sent me this pic of a 1940 nickel. There is what looks to be a number 2 or some sort of impression on the collar of Jefferson. Can you please tell me what you think this is? I certainly don't want to give him the wrong answer. This is the only pic I have of it tho. Whatever advice you give will be well appreciated.

Looks like they used too small of hammer? Just a damaged coin that some would save.
