I went off of Wexler Double Dies website.. I also referred to 71 & 72.. both showed very similar spliting..

Also take another look at the 3. Tail is split in 2

@RCarv Sorry, I'm not understanding why you referenced 1971 and 1972 listings for a coin minted in 1973.

I believe what you are seeing as a separation line on the tail of the 3 is just tricky shadowing caused by multiple light sources. I see no evidence of a DDO.

Nope, 1 light source and I compared the most recent known Doubled die coins for comparison..
I think I need to make another post and be little more detailed..

How sure are you there was only one light source? Usually if you have a USB microscope, that has its own light, plus if you have any lights on in the room that's a second or more, and if there's a window and it's daytime that would be yet another.

My opinion is that it is not a DDO, but even if it is, it's absurdly minor and really not worth the effort you're expending on it. I doubt any of the major variety sites would bother listing something so small even if it is legit.

I have to agree. Fairly normal looking cent. I see no evidence of a DDO, sorry.

1973 wasn't that the /a year where the Master die was doubled?

Funny Greasy..
Check out wexler coins bc they do have more than the more prominent doubling listed..
Also over the years 3 different styles of stamping was used, which does effect style of Doubling..
I just like to compare same year or year very close if cojn is not listed..
