This is jut laughable but terribly sad that it's already up to $500+. Font is way off on the slab and the coin is a one look fake. A shame some people get conned into buying things like this thinking it's real. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-Doubl...114796672537-CH27 Collector of U.S. Coins, Varieties, and Colonial Coinage

PCGS # 2825 I can't find that.. Looks mighty fake to me...however..... Take a look at the 1917 Reverse D he sold.... You can find it in his feedback or 114670649541 tell me what you think? Seems off to me

Wow, terrible is an understatement.
And your right GF, looks to be a fake 17D, that MM is way off. Willing to bet this guy knows exactly what he's doing.

Yikes, that's also a really poor fake. This guy seems to be a serial bad actor.

Quote:PCGS # 2825 I can't find that.. The numbers all check out: https://www.PCGS.com/cert/32515286The font and coin still scream "fake," though. Anyway, fake or not, who wouldn't question why a clearly worn coin is in a PCGS MS slab?

The numbers all agree, the PCGS database confirms the presence of such a coin. True, there is no photo and this is bad. What makes you think it's fake ?

Just a quick comment and question. How do they get away with fraud like this, why is Ebay and Etsy not be held accountable? Right now someone on Etsy is selling a 1943 steel penny in VG or better condition for $50,000.00 and says it's rare, I have a jar of them my Dad took out of circulation between 1943-46 that looks as nice. I would be glad to sell them the whole jar for $50,000.00!

Tip of the day: When you type in PCGS as a title on a saved image, it will not load up. So I changed it to xxxx instead of PCGS, reloaded the image and now it shows up. So don't use those letters on the title on an image, well to post here, it won't work. This will show up.

Should PCGS be informed about this fake slab?

It's been removed! Thanks CCF! Saved some poor soul nearly $600.
