They just look hideous as heck. Charging $3 for $1 coin and then $7 for a cardboard folder, thats $182 for the set and $78 for loose coins, wasn't the last lot like $49 in a Burokker tube or something.
What a rort, how many alphabets can they do - I mean one coin is for a Candy company (Darrell Lee), if that is not advertising what is.
I can see it now in 2030 - the new Harvey Norman and JB Hifi dollars.

I do hope that Canada does not start this. It might not work anyway since the coins would need to be bilingual. Or it might be worse-a French and English version, 52 coins total.

Oh well if its done here in New Zealand, it will only be 41 coins if the Maori insist on Maori language ones as their alphabet only has 13 letters and 2 "dipthongs" - wh and ng.
If anywhere needs this done its NZ, but we will likely get $5 silver ounce coins that are sold at $139.95 each plus $17.95 Postage and Papackaging per coin.

Thx for the info. As with other series I will only save them from pocket change, for face value. Thus, I expect that I will only get about 75% of a complete set, over a period of perhaps six week or so, before almost all of the remaining issued coins will disappear for circulation, taken by kid collectors like myself. That is quite OK for me. Philosophically, they represent a very frivolous reason to issue coins. That provides the justification to only take them from pocket change at face value, and not to bother with building a complete set of them. I wonder if they will issue a commemoration coin for the 100 anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the Society for the Preservation of Wooden toilet Seats?

They did it for the 75th and 90th anniversaries so why not the 100th? They disappeared from circulation so fast maybe you didn't notice them.

Thats a $2 coin as they can have a coloured ring around the bowl. Not forgetting the series of 28 $1 coins showing all the different types of Dame Edna's glasses since 1972. And the great Aussie sayings series, thats right collect enough alphabet coins to spell out the word "Fair Dinkum" and we will give a shiny dollar with the word "Fair dinkum" written on it. To add to the stereotypes it will show an Aussie bloke complete with a hat with corks, holding a VB with a can muffa round it, whilst a kangaroo hops behind him and Ayers rock added for decoration - Bonza!

Quote: Still probably gonna get one :D I know I shouldnt That's the way it goes with these issues. The one you don't get will one day be worth a fortune while all the ones you did get aren't worth half of what you paid for them.

I'll keep my eyes out for them in change - the current ones certainly don't appear too often though.

I think it is selected Australia Post stores. If they sell RAM products then they should have them. You can order the rolls and albums from the Australia post website that has free postage
