Mintmarks don't go wandering about the place like that.
I would presume it's a zinc rot bubble that just happens to be shaped like a P. There's certainly lots of zinc rot bubbles all over the reverse.

As Sap mentioned, the mark you are seeing is probably a zinc rot blister. A better closeup might tell us more. It could be a small die chip, but we cannot see it well enough. Your cent is in rough shape, if it was mine I'd throw it back and spend my time and efforts in searching other rolls.  ça va bien aller

Bubble will collapse when pushed with a toothpick. A die chip will not. Also it it is plated over zinc dust, that will not collapse. So if it doesn't give, there is no differences in value. Die events, and plated over zinc dust doesn't create a premium for these coins.

There are some examples of dropped letters but this is not one of them. This can happen when a die's letter cavity is compacted with grease and debris and is eventually jarred loose, falling onto the planchet and then is struck into the surface of the coin. The struck through a dropped letter will create an incuse of the letter and it must be the same size and font style found elsewhere on the coin is struck into but there is no P here to drop! Thats where the time travel comment came from because in 2017 there was a P mintmark.
