Looks like some kind of substance on obverse of coin the reverse may have a pre Cud on right wheat ear pitchers are not quite clear enough to say for sure

Suggest giving the coin a looooooong soak in 100% acetone. Could go a long way in clearing away any 'gunk' which may be present.

looks like it was lacquered or 'shellacked' or something, there is a lot of gunk of this coin to tell anything from it. a good LONG acetone might help this coin out greatly.

Circulation residue, not worth the effort of conservation, these are very inexpensive in MS red.

Acetone cleared out some gunk. I was thinking the black "splotching" might be from being in a fire.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
