If after reviewing this thread below you can still justify your position, may I suggest that you upload photos devoid of excessive glare that currently distorts the true condition of this coin:
http://goccf.com/t/271673&SearchTerms=machine,hubAlso, try photographing it with two incandescent bulbs positioned 180 degrees apart with both producing an angle of incidence of 45 degrees. Try this without any ambient room lighting and eliminate any perpendicular lighting sources.
These should reduce the glare and accentuate the height of the devices critical in differentiating a subject with MD from one having a
DDR or
DDO etc.
The sharpness of the focus should improve but keep in mind that one must experiment with different focal lengths to likewise tighten up the clarity.
