On the devices facing the rim direction what you are seeing is extreme die wear. Not a die variety, just a die event.

Yes, that appears to be a copper, large date '82 D. Its the small date copper '82 D which is worth a boat load.

No worries Kerry! getting good pictures is a long learning curve. (at least you are cropping your images right to the edge of your coins.
I too use my android for all my full coin images - I use the 'zoom' function when getting good pictures - it allows me to keep the phone further away from the coin as to not block the light.
For coin of quarter size and smaller I zoom into 3X, for half dollar - I scale back to 2.5X, and for larger coins like the Ike's and silver dollars it is at 2X. A steady hand and let the focus do its job.

The fg is detiorating the wrong way it looks like to me.. towards the center of the coin. And the e in states doesn't look normal either
