I have a client who possesses two 1943 pennies. One D one no mint. One weighs 3.1g one weighs 2.9g. they are not tooled down, or show any sign of tampering . He obtained these along with over a million other coins including 1909 VDB and about 40 cheerio gold dollars. My problem is there are so many apparently fakes that no one looks at these with any real knowledge, even the so called pro's don't give any merrit to them without even seeing them in person. I've never seen a fake penny. Kinda hard to create one when the mint has certain processes that cannot be faked, and if so then how can anyone say anything is real or not? I uploaded the obverse and can upload the reverse to anyone who wants to look at these and give me a intelligent opinion.

'43 steel cents are pretty common and not worth much. 43 bronze cents are worth a significant premium. people copper plate the steel cents pretty often. the first thing to do would be to check to see if they are magnetic.
I collect low grade large cents. I currently have >230 Sheldon varieties and >235 middle date Newcomb varieties.

2.7 grams is normal,I don't know what the mint tolerance is for 1943 cents. We will need good photos front and back and edge to really help you out.
