Hello,

Of course, I will be able to handle and inspect these before buying but this is a collection that has been presented to me for sale. If I pull the trigger I am going to offer €15 a coin and see if he accepts.

He isn't a collector so these are likely the best photos I will get ...

Curious to hear some opinions...

I will post more below.. I don't want to lose these images

The ones with good silver condition would be okay to buy IMO. Don't think I'd want the poor condition ones. 15 euro each would be a good price for them I think.

They should all be silver alloy but are in very poor condition. Like this I often see roman coins in piles for 5 € a piece. Your seller may have picked them that way. I would pass.

When so worn it is also hard to tell if they are genuine.

Think of picking a theme to collect. Republic. Or one of each emperor. Or coins of one emperor. If you go aimless into classics you may tire of them, there are so many. Makes collecting seem impossible.

I buy a lot of ancients and sell them and in my opinion, if offered that lot I first I think they are all ancient and genuine so no problem and second that price is fine. I mean I'd actually pay that as a dealer and selling them I see $100 to $150 profit. The real money for me is the Pegasus as that is good for that issue. So doing conservative math I can see $100 profit at least but remember I have a 20 year base of customers. For a collector it is a great price, again in my opinion.

@louisville...I buy and sell a lot ... Not primarily in coins and certainly not as long as you have. I have bought a few collections of ancients and mixed coins here and done pretty well, putting the profits into american silver I can get at about spot.
I offered low. He rejected..I'll think about countering, but I feel there are a few unsaleable coins in the lot. So I may just withdraw.

I'll let the forum know.
