I have found maybe 6 of these over the years .. The second lobe looks like a plating bubble but it's not, you can see the variety listed on wexlers..does anyone have any knowledge on the rarity?

At first glance I would of said Plating Bubble...but it looks like a good match to Variety V link above! Nice!

Thanks Errers, I'd say this one is a type b. I wasn't sure how to feel about the scarcity because they don't get mentioned much and I have found at least 6 in the last decade. I do live close to the mint in Philadelphia maybe that helps.

yep, me too - my first impression was bubble, but apparently not a bubble but a doubled ear lobe - great find.

Guys? Do you want to tell me this it is the FS-101? WDDO-034? The ear is far and the Liberty? I will like to be contradicted on this coin.

Sure looks like it to me. Yours even seems to show the secondary part of the beard.

Does yours show the die crack on column #2 on the reverse?
