sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 11/18/2023 08:00 am On a coin that has a deep scratch but no wear after the time of the scratch, the scratch shows up much like a furrow in a ploughed field, where the edges of the furrow are small ridges, higher than the surrounding field. This feature much harder to detect on a coin that has sustained circulation wear after the time of the scratch.
