recollector Valued Member Canada 191 Posts	Posted 06/09/2024 04:12 am i see this on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/235591147612 but I'm wondering how do you know its a specimen dollar? what specific things to look for compared to a pl dollar? (besides a mirror finish, which I can't really see in the photos anyway. and finally, is there a specific box for the 1949 specimen dollar? Report this Post to the Staff

thedollarman Pillar of the Community Canada 4911 Posts	Posted 06/09/2024 10:56 pm Not a specimen..1949s came very well produced and can trick you at first glance, but when compared to a real specimen they don't hold up one bit. Take a look at the PCGS plate coins, the SP67+ and SP67 shown there are legitimate quality specimen strikes with incredibly high point details and much fuller rim strikes. Feel free to call me Will.
