1987 D Quarter Error? All Input Welcome Please

Chizzy New Member United States 23 Posts	Posted 10/22/2024 2:15 pm Ok so checking my pocket change and found this. 1987 D quarter Weight 5.34g Diameter 24mm Thickness 1.75mm The last photo that has 3 coins they are the coin in question and 2 other quarters and the middle coin is the coin in question. It's under weight and rim looks different for sure. Doesn't look to have wear on it so wanted to get suggestions. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

The corrosive environment attacks the copper core faster than the clad outer layers and so you end up with a striped edge like yours.
