Hey Folks, I am new to the group. I appreciate information sites like these. I was hoping someone knowledgeable could provide some information regarding this oddity as I cannot find anything on the Internet. I have been collecting as a novice since I was young. It was primarily due to a "My three Sons" re-run episode I watched, where Ernie lost his 1914d penny. I located an old box in the where I would put coins when they stuck me as odd and found this nickel with an impression on the reverse that appears to be similar in size to the buffalo's head. On the obverse there is also some weird damage. Has anyone seen this before? If so, I am assuming this is just considered damage and not a true error. I do appreciate your thoughts in advance!

Thanks!

Nothing but PMD. It wasn't minted like that. Could be the result of high heat like from a blowtorch.
