I've had time to sort through my coin piles. I'm currently putting together a "States and Territories" album. A friend gave me the album and most of the coins. But I'm missing the 2008-2009 coins. I could gradually get them here in Russia, but for some reason they're very scarce, and the price for 2009 coins is currently too high, around $3.50 each. People say they're "rare," but I think that's ridiculous.
Are the 2009 coins priced the same as the rest of the series or higher? Is there a reason they're higher? The standard price for a quarter in Russia is 1$-1,50$

Well they were mints in quantities of 200 million or greater - not particularly 'rare' here in the US. Some seller will just say rare to get folks to pay a higher price. But on ebay, I'm seeing prices hovering around $2.00 USD.

As far as I can see from the information, the circulation of 2009 quarters is from 30-40 million. They are lower than the estimates of 1999-2008, but 40 million is still a huge amount. I don't think there's a problem with getting them.
