So, let's say, hypothetically, there's an old geezer who years ago sold a bunch of his 1940's and 1950's cents on ebay and now is left with , oh......, I don't know, uh say.... approximately 24,723 .

At an average of 3 grams each, the pile would weigh about 75 kilos, (165 or so pounds), so this isn't something I could ship, so I thought about local ads (Montreal), but don't know how much to ask for them .
I was thinking of asking 3 cents each but the total of around $750 seems nuts to me. Or is it too low ? I kept 4500 average circulated 1962-3-4's separate and figured maybe to unload them at 2 cents each ($90). I had also figured 1.5 cents for the damaged ones ($27.02). That would leave 17,478 (approx. for about $524.34
524 + 90 + 27 = $641 Still sounds crazy, say an even $600, is that reasonable ?

There are many options here if you have any BU cents you could separate them. And sell separately. You will get more money for them. But your estimate of the cents a coin is on par for what they sell for in the united state.and sometimes more not 100%?sure about Canada. So mite want to wait for some one from Canada to respond with a more accurate statement.

You have to put "formatted" text inside

tags. I added them to your post.
