I dont mind the gung too much but if it was mine I would acetone it and see if it would clean that up which would bump the eye appeal Report this Post to the Staff

I know acetone and Classic Coin Conditioner are not comparable - acetone is probably the better solvent - however, which would you prefer in this case? Thanks! Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6396 Posts	Posted 06/29/2026 9:15 pm Agree with XF detail, with an old cleaning and possible ED around date and mintmark. Somewhat negative eye appeal and would almost certainly not grade problem-free. Acetone treatment can't hurt. Slow retoning on a windowsill or in a paper envelope might gradually improve the look.
