Looks to be a nice proof with a touch of haze in the fields.
Should grade PR66 or 67 and be worth $10-12 easy.

I would suggest taking it carefully out of that holder to photograph proofs.

Hi Vermontensium , ill do that when conditions are right for photos.Ive a 1942 walker in similar condition.Ive some morgans I've been wanting to photograph and some Peace dollars.When I get all these out of their airtites for photos ill do these others as well.Thanks |

Ive made an interesting observation gentlemen , this particular quarter will not fit in a quarter page,not in a Dansco anyway. So thats something I've learned,i wondered why you guys used the pr grading , I can see now sure enough , must be a proof. doesn't fit in my dansco..to the classifieds it will go  |

Hmmm, you must have a small hole or something because Washington proofs fit in my Dansco just fine  |

Hmmm..i did only try one hole and it is a brand new album , I didnt try to overdo it cos I dont want to wreck my book..ill try again , thanks biokemist6  You are correct biokemist6 , it does fit , I only tried one slot , it fit easily when I tried another. Edited by wetglaswegian

Hehe, sometimes those holes are a little pesky, just a couple tenths of a millimeter too big or small messes everything up. One trick I learned is to take a nonvaluable coin of the same size and jam it in there, that is usually enough to slightly enlarge the hole and you don't risk mishandling a nice proof or MS coin. Of course, the worst is early 19th century coins that were not struck in a collar so they tend to have a slightly variable diameter  Edited by biokemist6

Yep , I sure thank you biokemist6 , I had it up in the classifieds for a swift sale only because I had taken it out its 2 x 2 and it didnt fit in the Dansco, your post saved my bacon as I would much prefer to keep it of course , thanks  Thanks Bruce , happy to say its going to stay in that condition for quite some time yet,nice and snug in its Dansco. |

pr65 and that is a real beauty. I have always thought except for the early proof sets, ie precellophane wrapper they were best left in their original holders?
