This one came as a complete shock It was part of a package deal that included an 1865 Three Cent Nickel and a 1944-S Jefferson nickel which is uncirculated. I wasn't expecting much on this one but was pleasantly surprised. Your thoughts are appreciated.

If that is #50 then I would try an acetone bath and a tooth pick to conserve the coin.
As is may go AU50

Very nice 1909 VDB Lincoln Cent; yes, a little acetone will help this coin tremendously.
I'll go one step higher than mcshilling and rate this coin AU53, only after the cleaning.

Mid-range AU for me. Hope a long acetone soak eliminates much of the crud.

To my eyes, too much ware on his ear and wheat grains appear flat.

first congrats on your roll. I dont think I've ever heard anyone doing that.

if you acetone it, resend it. I think its an excellent candidate for verdicare which may clean up more than the acetone.

depends on how it cleans up could be as high as AU53

The wheat grains are quite sharp still. I would do noting to this coin other than a xylene rinse and an airtite. The crud shows it's originality, it's a circ coin, leave it be IMO.
