I was wondering if you guys could tell me if a 1947 dot nickel is rare and would it be worth alot in close to ms condition. thanks very much Report this Post to the Staff

sn31 Pillar of the Community United States 773 Posts	Posted 09/26/2006 9:31 pm The dot is a caused from a pit in the plating of one of the dies,there is a variety of these in the 1947 quarter also.I believe all the dot varieties(1936 small cent and 1936 10 cent),are worth something.Did you ever buy this coin,and did you get a good deal on it?I keep my eyes open for these,hoping for the day I get my hands on one. :) sn31.
