cally New Member Australia 13 Posts	Posted 12/12/2015 11:12 pm Hi I found these coins in some job lots that I purchased - The first - a 1963 Sixpence is a bitten flan and I'm pretty sure its genuine due to the flattening on the opposite side of the bite The next is a 1921 halfpenny which looks to have multiple strikes The third is a penny 1936 - similar but with a very thin planchet, and seems a bit dished in the centre. Just curious if these are genuine or PMD Report this Post to the Staff

cally New Member Australia 13 Posts	Posted 12/12/2015 11:59 pm This doesn't surprise me - but I am happy with the sixpence as it came in a lot which I purchased for scrap silver price and it has some nice coins in it - this was a real bonus. The two coppers really cost nothing and I wondered how such obvious errors could be passed around in circulation to get the wear that these two exhibit - so PMD seems logical. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 12/13/2015 02:21 am The Sixpence is a curved clip error copmlete with Bleakesly effect. Nice error. The '21 halfpenny has suffered from rotational post mint damage, most probably deliberate, perhaps a 'shed job'. The '36 Penny is certainly a 'shed job' with coins being pressed together in a rather large vise. Also rotational damage. Report this Post to the Staff
