I discovered this pendant with a coin mounted in a lot of coins I bought. as it is mounted it is difficult to give exact weight and measurement. I believe it is a Tari? coin from Malta - The mounting bears some hallmarks which is difficult to read due to age, but I can make out what I think is 917? and a St John's Cross. Any thoughts?

Gross Weight with pendant - 7.7g

Coin with pendant measures 23mm across

I found below reference to this coin although it is a 1779, whereas my coin looks to be a 1776

Yes, the date reads 1776 and there was a 2 Tari issue for that year as well.
But somehow there is something which looks odd to me. Better show it to a coin dealer who has experience with those.

I don't know if this will help anyone as I'm late to post but I recently found something that looks similar to this but it has another part that looks to have fallen off your pendant. The one I recently found is a letter opener or bookmark here is a link that may help anyone who is looking for help :)
