Nice uncirculated looking bank notes, grading banknotes by photo is tougher but I don't see the broken fiber clusters that are usually represented by dark spots in the white paper for AU notes. Corners and edges all intact, a little wavy, so maybe a counting flick in there somewhere but nice overall and good colur. 62/3 I think. Can't tell paper quality without them being in hand.
Paper quality is important in grading uncirculated notes, the degrees to which the embossing is raised, the crisp feel of the roughened fibres... these things go away in notes overexposed to humid conditions etc...
It's sort of like grading an uncirculated cent and declaring it "red" vs "red/brown" in that bank notes with EPQ (exceptional/extra paper/premium quality) are more desirable.
Quote: I have a uncle 1954 5 dollar bill. Serial number 00000002. Does that add value?
Yes there is extra value for low serial numbers. Please start a new thread with a good title,"1954 CDN $5 serial # 00000002" or something similar to get proper attention.
