Small date vs. large date on 1875 5c is easiest to tell by the 1 in 1875 Large date has a very stubby and wide 1. I am very confident this is a Large Date variety. Report this Post to the Staff

DBM Pillar of the Community Canada 9875 Posts	Posted 05/22/2016 4:12 pm The 1 and 8 were punched in the matrix, the 7 and 5 were punched by hand into each individual die used. The location of the 7 and 5 will be slightly different for each die used.Each individual die is thus a variety. Some differences are obvious, some not so easy to recognize. There are at least four different small date 75's known. "Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website Report this Post to the Staff
