Post more pics!With natural lighting..your coin looks a bit orange:) That does look similar to the Rockwell tests though.

dont think its a rockwell test coin... and 1940 without a mintmark means it was minted in Philadelphia; a common coin.

@Cmancelet, first welcome to CCF. Second, a picture of the back of the coin (showing a flat spot or distortion corresponding to the dimple) would confirm, but I feel confident that this damage occurred after the coin left the mint.
