I was hoping maybe people could tell me if they see anything suspicious about this coin. It looks like it's in great shape to me, but I don't know that much about classic US coins, and I want to make sure I don't get scammed or buy something that's been badly cleaned. How high should I be willing to bid for this coin?   |

Some die cracks , some scratches . I don't like the overall appearance of this coin . If you like it thread lightly or look for something better .  |

Thanks guys! Trying to just watch the market a bit to get a sense of what fair prices are. Also, are die cracks a bad thing on coins like this? I mostly collect modern errors and varieties, so I'm used to seeing die cracks as a good thing!

I'm going to give a bit of untraditional advice. If you want to own a 3CN as a type coin don't waste your money on a circulated example. Type coins are plentiful in mint state and rather affordable. Look for a well struck, lustrous, and attractive example in the MS-62/3 range and one can be bad for no more than $160. You wont regret it.

Die cracks are not a bad thing. But scratches are. and I agree with Grape if you what a coin like this Buy a good one. May cost a little or a lot more but worth it

I do care for the scratch by the date. The reverse shows a cleaning. The coin also has some type of green contaminate. Pass

While I would hold out for a better one as well, I do like where your taste lies. Not all that often are we treated with someone who collects the obsolete coinage. Thanks for sharing!

nice die breaks, but there is 4 heavy scratches, that are kind of hidden with the toning.  |

with the coin in hand, I don't think you would be happy with it, unless it was achieved at a great price.

Like the die cracks on the OBV! I'd say it's about a $5 coin. Buy a better one of you can.
