I have an Ohio Statehood Quarter with 100% struck through cloth on obverse and reverse of coin. Decent grade coin. All details are clear. Can anyone give me an idea as to value on the coin? I can't find anything on coins struck through both sides!
This coin was altered. PSD. If this were a struck through, why are only the highest devices affected, and the fields are normal? On a struck through cloth, all areas are affected except the edges of the coin. Usually this affect is on one side of the coin.
Definitely post mint damage. You can see how the details of the coin have been smushed, which wouldn't happen on a strike through. If it were actually a strike through, it would muffle the details, but they would be the same size since the die would not be damaged by a piece of cloth. Also, incredibly unlikely you'd see a struck through cloth on both sides.
