As mentioned, this is called a 'Woody' because the planchet is looks like wood. So the reverse is showing the wood color differences. So 'toning' is not the cause of the color change on your coin. Here are a couple of close-ups of the date and the word Liberty. I do feel that the LIB in Liberty is a little off-centered? Thank you, everyone, for educating me on the type of finish this is. Third party grading ( TPG) is only cost effective if your final product is worth more that the $50-60 grading fees at a minimum.
