ANACS MS PL - Coin Community Forum

steve kuznicki Valued Member Canada 166 Posts	Posted 10/13/2009 01:26 am ANACS often lists Canadian dollars on its slabs as MS-- PL. What does that mean? It is often taken to mean proof like, but calling ANACS they say that it only means "proof like surfaces". Can anyone help clarify? Thanks, Steve Report this Post to the Staff

You are incorrect, A coin can be a MS and be PL or even DMPL but a coin can't be MS and PR or PF (which stands for Proof) but PL and DMPL just means it has Proof Like or deep Mirror Proof Like Surfaces where it almost looks like a proof because it was struck with fresh dies and has mirror fields Report this Post to the Staff

How you dress it up depends on how you wish to express it to get attention... I have however, never seen these designations with coins graded in canada.
