Howdy, long time lurker, first time poster!
I recently received an 1877 S Trade dollar from a respected dealer. I've been looking it over carefully as most of these things are counterfeit and noticed a line going through a denticle, wondering if this is just a micro fracture in the die? It's a Type 2, looks quite authentic but I'd sure appreciate a second opinion.
How does this coin look to you?

The example looks genuine. The common date Trade dollars are not as heavily faked as the CC dates. If you do purchase a CC date Trade dollar, best to buy in a major TPG holder form a trusted dealer.
I appreciate everyone's opinion! Pretty excited as it's my first TD and not likely to be the last. Glad to be here and look forward to participating in the conversation.
