What HondoB said are the only known methods that are safe on coins. Doing anything else will damage the coin further.

The core question that must be answered first is... why do you think this coin needs cleaning?

What I'm seeing in these pictures is a heavily circulated cupronickel coin. It is not corroded, nor does it seem to have any goo or debris stuck to it. There is perhaps a yellowish-brown oxidation later on it, but this would be fairly normal for cupronickel coins. Anything strong enough to remove such oxidation would almost certainly give you a coin with an acid-stripped, porous appearance.

Then there is jbuck's economic consideration. This coin has a face value of US36¢ and is not a scarce date. Nor is it covered with a form of corrosion that is likely to get worse over time. Cleaned or uncleaned, the coin will not be worth much more than face value; even if acetone was considered possibly beneficial one would have to question splashing a dollar's worth of acetone on this coin, when that same dollar can in theory buy you a much nicer example of this same coin. If on the other hand the coin has sentimental value for you, then by all means consider improving it.
