1928 Irish 6 Pence (Km#5) - Retained Lamination Peel? Opinions Appreciated

penngrovetrading New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted Today 1H 6M ago Hi everyone, I recently picked up this 1928 Irish 6 Pence (KM#5) and noticed what appears to be a retained lamination on the harp side. The flap is still firmly attached, but it is definitely raised. In hand I can easily catch the edge with my fingernail, although I have no intention of lifting it any further. The lamination extends nearly the full width of the coin above the harp, with a substantial retained flap covering much of the harp design. I've attached close-up photographs along with a short video to better show the depth of the retained peel. My questions are: Do you agree this is a retained lamination peel rather than post-mint damage? Have any of you encountered similar retained laminations on Irish Free State coinage? Is there any established premium for a dramatic retained lamination like this on an otherwise collectible world coin? I appreciate any thoughts or comparable examples. Thanks! I found a lot of 4 of these 1928 pieces. I gave the two nicest ones to my coworker. Then I looked closer at my last two and noticed the lamination. I have to admit, I was a bit giddy.
