Owners Of Whitman Album #9111: Flying Eagle & Ih Cents, What Have You Done About The 1856 Hole?

1910S_1C Valued Member United States 69 Posts	Posted Yesterday 9:36 pm I have long enjoyed the Whitman Classic line of coin albums. However, upon acquiring #9111: Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents, I noticed that an unfathomably asinine decision ruined what has otherwise been a wonderful way to house my coins. Inexplicably, the decisionmakers at Whitman Publishing came to the conclusion that this album should include a slot for the 1856 Flying Eagle cent, an issue which is not only not part of the regular series, being unauthorized by Congress, but also so prohibitively expensive that anybody who is fortunate enough to acquire it would almost certainly eschew putting it in an ordinary album. For the time being, I have plugged the hole with a custom-made "PATTERN ONLY" cardboard cutout, but I was wondering if anybody else has come up with a better solution to this completely unnecessary conundrum. Dearborn Moderator United States 101952 Posts	Posted Yesterday 10:51 pm I don't have any Whitman albums, but I do have all my old folders and in the Barber dime folder they did the same thing for the 1894-S that had only 24 coins minted they did a partial cut-out for the coin and labeled it as Rare.
