Got in a bunch of fun stuff today. Mostly lots of off centers but some other things as well. These don't get posted very often so figured I would put this one up. I've never honestly been sure if this is formally an elliptical clipped planchet or struck on an elliptical planchet. 2007-D Utah State Quarter mint error - elliptical clip   |

That is a neat one and cool how it was struck almost perfectly oriented.

Thanks for the great comments! And yes, I also like the nearly perfect orientation. I also have an Oregon where the oval is set nearly at a 45 degree angle which is also really nice alignment.

Very interesting.
At first I thought there wasn't a Blakesley Effect (because of the well defined rim where the rim met the field), but when I enlarge the image it is visible.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

A lot of error coins can't be found in bank rolls because they are slightly larger, such as broadstrikes and off centers. But this is one that does fit in a roll and so some lucky roll hunters have nabbed them over the years in great uncirculated condition.
