In 2018, the San Francisco Mint celebrated its 50th Anniversary of Proof Set production by issuing a 10 coin Silver Reverse Proof Set. Mintage was 199,116. Mint issue price was $54.95, a $10 premium over the standard silver proof set. A fair number of these sets made their way to TPGs and a check of ebay finds numerous examples of sets with all coins graded at PF 70; NGC and PCGS sets command a premium over similar ANACS sets. Special labels with signatures are featured on some of these.
This past weekend a local estate auction house offered an NGC "Early Releases" set with former US Mint Sculptor Don Everhart's signature on the label. The set was marketed and packaged by Nationwide Coin & Bullion Reserve, a Houston, TX, PM dealer; per its website, Everhart is still affiliated with them. After inspecting the set Friday morning, I put in a bid before heading out for a camping trip Sunday. When I came home Tuesday, I learned my bid was a winner.
