1922 "Weak D" LWC- Thoughts On Description And Grade

Yes, it looks like a nice woody, probably around VF-30. Even though the D is weak, it might be considered a regular 1922-D rather than a weak D variety, given the strong reverse and the bold letters in IGWT.

PCGS notes the following die pairs to determine if its genuine you can compare your to. according to PCGS and ANA there are two die pairs for the weak D. Die pair #1 and Die pair #3

I'm unable to match your coin to either of these dies. I'm not an expert on the weak D so maybe someone more knowledgeable with this will chime in.

Die Pair Differences:

Die Pair #1:

Second 2 in date is weaker than the first 2.
First T in TRUST is smaller and more distinct than the other letters.
WE is very mushy.
Reverse is very weak, usually with no lines in the wheat ears.
a "jogging" die crack from the reverse rim to the "O" in "ONE" that skips down into the letter

Die pair #3:

Second 2 in date is weaker than first 2.
TRUST is weak but sharper than IN GOD WE.
L in LIBERTY butts up against the rim.
Reverse is weak -- lower left part of O in ONE begins to spread into the field as the die deteriorates.

I wouldn't consider that a weak D.

I can't comment on the weak 'D' - but I do like the nice woody.
