Sap Moderator Australia 16958 Posts	Posted Today 17M ago I'm thinking the PMD is what has caused the "lamination issue", not a separate effect or mint error. In terms of "how did this damage come about", while we weren't there to watch it so can never be certain, his coin looks exactly what I would expect a coin to look like if it had been very strongly superglued to the sidewalk and later pried off with tools: all the scratches where someone got underneath the coin with a screwdriver trying to get it off (or to scrape off the chunk of concrete still stuck to the coin), and the "lamination issue" caused by the coin itself tearing apart as bits of it remained stuck to the glue, and maybe some bits of the glue still stuck to the coin there around LIBERTY.
