Ebay Not Clearly Disclosing The Fees/Charges For Promoted Listing !

Chase007 Pillar of the Community United States 7575 Posts	Posted Today 6H 24M ago I like other sellers frequently get PROMOTE YOUR LISTING and pay after sale notifications from ebay and decided to check the fees for it. the respond was totally unclear and not straight rorward ! what is the percentage (ad rate) of the total sale amount for promoting a listing? Quote: eBay charges a final value fee calculated as a percentage of the total amount of the sale plus a per order fee. The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, shipping costs collected from the buyer, sales tax, and any other applicable fees. The final value fee percentage varies by category and sale amount. For example, a typical final value fee can be around 13.6% plus $0.40 per order for sales over $10. For some categories, the fee structure is tiered, such as 6.7% on the first $7,500 and 2.35% on the portion over $7,500. Additional final value fees may apply if you do not meet performance expectations or violate policies, such as buying or selling outside of ebay. The upshot is that promotion only helps if you are in a crowded category with much competition. The fees escalate and add up quickly. Also, if a buyer purchases one of your promoted items, you will be charged a fee every time that buyer purchases something from you - no matter how many years down the line. I've done quite well on ebay based on the items I was selling, without the assistance of their sketchy "promotion".
