Note: I took a Q-tip with 99% rubbing alcohol and attempted to lift the toning off the quarter but the Q-tip stayed clean. And I then did the same to a reg quarter and it came back dirt a little dark spec. But I think I got the 1999 experimental metal design it weights 5.9 grams Report this Post to the Staff

Okay I just put gasoline on the quarter and nothing rubbed off excepts I'm cleaning it but no black residue like a normal quarter would produce Report this Post to the Staff

obieblue New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted Today 1H 10M ago I love the fact you think it's environment show me pics of what you claim because the rim around quarter same color and the high worn parts same color it's same color on the redding. I don't believe your bias at first I thought it was rainbow toning but the metal of coin it's to even to be rust and smooth. I look under loop and there are shuttle differences one is there's what looks like a seem around the reeding and where the rim meets the the field of the coin on the obverse. The R's and E's have different cadence's of there structure then the business strike Report this Post to the Staff

Also, the field on the left is much lighter (L) than the darker fields to the right (D). This suggests that the coin has environmental staining that is wearing thin at the high points.
