Did it have a reference number from a published book? Dealers do make mistakes.

Looks Greek to me too. It might be a pather, hard to tell. The ones I've seen the panther faces left.

Yes, I recently caught a mistake in an on-line auction listing, under very similar circumstances. When the auction firm replied (with thanks) they explained the coin had been part of a lot where the other attributions were all OK.
