Hi everyone,

I have been noodling an auction purchase of bulk world coins that I purchased some time ago. Among the collection were 80-120 Hong Kong coins of varying denominations and years. Among them was a 1964H 5 cents. Given the scarcity of this coin and the accounts of counterfeits I'm sure this is not genuine but I can't see the signs. It is 16.5mm in diameter and 2.58g in weight. The weight is a little under the 2.592g specified in Numista but I'm not sure how accurate my scales are nor what the variance in weight is over the years of mintage. I cannot see any indicators that the 4 has been re-worked and the H is in the correct position although a touch weak. I'm fully expecting this to be a fake so please don't hold back.

Hi David. I'm no expert, but it certainly looks good, compared with the 1964 image on Numista. Except, maybe the security edge.
