1953 United Kingdom set of circulating coins - first coins for Queen Elizabeth II: The above set is in an album, but when originally issued by The Royal Mint, the uncirculated coins were sold in rather haphazardly arranged plastic wallets... The 1953 coins were the only ones to include the words 'Britt:Omn' in the Queen's titles (Queen of all the Britons), as can be seen on the obverse of the florin and Scottish shilling in this set. Owing to the changing status of many Commonwealth countries, which were declaring independence and becoming republics, it was decided to remove these words.
