Any help with this Morgan 1878-S would be appreciated. It's toned. How would you grade this?

AU-55 or 58, maybe an old cleaning? Maybe the lighting is making it look duller. This is VAM-84. Its nice for a AU!

Did you go to "Morgan VAMs by date" or were you just looking at top 100?

Thanks for the comments and VAM-84 identification. I went to find it in PCGS CoinFacts and it did not show up there. I was trying to see what the premium was for the VAM-84 hi

It's def not cleaned. 55, but a plus grade seems likely. Toning looks natural, at least to me. As a rule probably 95% of VAMS don't have any premium.

not a fan of the toning, however, its not bad enough to drop the grade. based on the color and dull surfaces, especially in photo 3 of the obv. leads me to believe it was improperly stored for an extended period of time and may have been dipped and not rinsed and dry before storing it.

I'll go MS64 with off the scale eye appeal. Don't see any wear. Beautiful coin with natural looking toning. Congrats!
