Hello! I'm new to this forum and I hope I'm doing this right.

I found this quarter in the register at work and I traded it for a quarter I had in my pocket because I had never seen anything like this. It feels smooth and most of the detail is gone. Even the ridges are worn away. Would anyone have any ideas on how a coin would get like this?

That is some serious wear and tear! Looks like some 80 year old quarters I have! Maybe it was in a washing machine, slot machine, or a lucky pocket piece that someone rubbed alllll the time.
