Clay Coins: What Are They And ?--$$

JackRyan New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 10/21/2010 11:03 am OK... I'm new to Forums so I may not do this 100% right. I have a huge collection of foreign coins, all categorized, priced and in nice little jackets. They were given to me by a close friend who knows less than me. Some are very cool, Ancient stuff - Roman (Caesar etc.) But the stuff that really piqued my curiosity is about 40-50 CLAY COINS, mostly German I think. Anyone have any idea what they are or what they are worth ? I would settle where to find info on them. I have been Googling every possibility unsuccessfully. Thanks to everyone in advance. In this case the inscription "Freiberger MÃ¼nze" means a coin from (or issued by) Freiberg. Actually there used to be a mint near Freiberg at that time - in MuldenhÃ¼tten. But as yarm wrote, these porcelain pieces, with the crossed swords as "mintmark", are from Meissen. Christian Report this Post to the Staff
