On to a lighter side of things............ the new P puck will be available today at the mint. I will be picking one up along with a silver proof set. I really like the way the silver proof quarters look. I wish some of the P pucks had the same finish. Anybody else picking up a P puck today? I like the new design. The bullion pucks go back on sale July, 13th. The APs already purchased 35k of these pucks.

I am going a wait a bit. Last year with the subscription discount the first 4 were bought by me right on issue date. I wait sometimes when no discount since $ is tight. I finally got Everglades a few weeks ago. This coin is my favorite this year so I will get it soon. Don't want a Hawaii with this one or at least I want to have one before. Or they possibly could just sell out. As an aside, my local Coin shop owner told me that the premiums on 'junk 90 % ' may be going up. I guess they use percentages on spot so as spot goes down so does premium. Right now his premium is 15% on dimes/quarters and 20% on halves. I guess when silver was in the 30 and 40 dollar range and premium was 3 % somewhat similar but still if these premiums go up it will make the junk more costly.

Look,,,,

give me some time to compile the data, and I will let the numbers speak for themselves and it will back my statements. I dont want to derail this thread as I was accused so I will revisit this later.

BTW I have yet another question for Barry. I quote him:

Please, stay in the PM forum instead of turning yet another thread into a monument to your ego.

SO because I help people, because I freely share my knowledge, that means one has a big ego? I had no idea sharing knowledge was a bad thing... news to me....

This is enough bickering.

Back on topic or there will be consequences, like a popular (166 page) thread getting locked and the 101 different contributors looking for blood.

Play nice.

Thank you jbuck. I wouldn't want this thread to go away. It's usually a nice discussion on the 5 oz. ATB coins. One of the few threads I like to read and contribute to.

No problem. I think the crisis has been averted.

I am not a five ounce collector, but I have been following this thread as part of the whole ATB program, which I do like.

I started buying since I have visited so many of the parks. I didn't start the purchases until the price for the P version came down with the Gettysburg coin. Then I decided to buy one per yr. for Christmas gifts for kids/grandkids! I felt something of value and beauty plus a collectible item that may (as we have seen esp with P version of Hawaii and Acadia) go up way higher than the silver content.

Is the Mint having a free shipping special? I know they do for online orders sometimes. This is the one I will get for the Christmas gift this year. I really like it plus have driven a good portion of it!

And although the going price did come down from the 154.95 when the Mint had the subscription discount, the discount was just so nice!

@Foxwoods - I think Angel was asking if there was free shipping because on your post you mention the total cost, but you did not include the $4.95 shipping cost in your total. I am guessing that is why that was thought. I had to pay $4.95 when I made my order earlier today.

Also, your puck is shipping already? That is nice, my order is still processing, but I only made the order 1.5 hours ago.

I will add that if I were ever to buy one, the Blue Ridge makes a good case. I really like the design.

However, if I am going to succumb to a five ounce purchase, I would like to hold out for Ft. Moultrie.
