That is a crazy photo on that site of the 1955. Judging by the angle of the picture the second photo I posted looks more like a PL coin then.

Thanks

I have one that looks exactly like that - PCGS PL67+ (second highest graded). Trust me, when it comes to the early proof-like dollars, the eye-appeal is ALL there. Even through the 1960s, compare a proof-like dollar cut out of a pliofilm strip to the business strikes.

Here is a nice 1957: https://goccf.com/t/118232&whichpage=10

I know what a proof like coin is! Just saying there are different grades of P-L. Yes if you want great "eye-appeal" a PL66 or 67 is the way to go

I'm sure more coins have been added since the ICCS 2012 pop report, however , just to let you know how rare PL 1953 coins are:

Not many sets possible according to ICCS.

There's not many complete sets of 1953 PL. The 5 cent is perhaps the hardest to get.

here's my PCGS 1949 PL dollar. It's has some toning but still mirror like, and the legend is the same as my MS-66 dollars.

Shame you could not pay that 1992 price... the 25-cent looks stunning...
